    So here's a related question:

I've heard cops refer to the fact that they're familiar with the smell of marijuana from their academy training and experience. I also assume that drug sniffing dogs must be trained by sniffing out actual drugs.

So where do "training drugs" come from? Do you use something out of the evidence locker, or do you buy it from your friendly neighborhood dealer?

All of our drugs go to the force drugs store and following court etc are destroyed.

Training drugs come from these drug stores.

Depends....if they are willing to work with me and tell me where they got it, then I'll toss it (unless it is a substantial amount, then I'll charge them). If I do charge an individual with PCS, then we place it into evidence, and after it is tested, photographed and documented (all on crime-lab's shoulders), then it is burned.

To my understanding, all dope in locally held evidence must be documented by the MS Bureau of Narcotics and destroyed under their supervision, after trial.

    USER WARNED

I always wondered what happened to the weed the cops confiscated from me when they didn't arrest me.

I remeber one time back in 1990, myself and a drinking buddy took a ride from Minneaopolis to the Wisconsin border because we were out of beer and they sold beer until 2 am instead of midnight like Minnesota. My friend and I bought 2 six packs of Schlitz Malt Liquor in the red cans, which is much stronger than the blue cans. We drank a few by the time we got back to Minneapolis and then I saw a hitchiker so like the nice guy I am, I picked him up.

Almost right away The redlights flashed in my mirror so I pulled over. The cops then checked my Id, as they were doing that my friend Eric was trying to hide his beer and ended up spilling it on his crotch. The cops asked him to get out of the car and asked him if he peed his pants and laughed at him. It was pretty funny I must say.

Once my license cleared with no warrants the cops took the full six pack we had left and left us with two tall boys and gave me a lecture about pickin up hitchhikers.. I always thought it was cool that they left us with a couple beers. I wonder what they did with the six pack they took?

Possession of marijuana? Open container in a vehicle? Driver CONSUMING alcohol while operating a motor vehicle?

What fucking bizarro world did you come from where you might think we're interested in hearing what illegal activites you do for kicks?

User's warn meter increased. That's the final one, although I have a feeling that I may as well ban you now. BUT, against better judgement, I'll hold hoff. At least until tomorrow when you make another asinine post.

Sorry if I offended you in some way officer. I was only curious about what most officers do with things they confiscate when they don't charge the person.
