I lost my gloves the other night and I need to buy new ones. The ones I had were Hatch Patrolman. They were ok, but I'm looking for recomendations. What is your favorite duty glove?

I haven't really found a pair that I like a lot... I used to have some leather ones that fit well, and didn't interfere too much when I had to search wearing them, but they don't seem to make them anymore.
What I've personally found is that the fit matters more for searching and other things than anything else. I won't buy gloves for work from a catalog or on-line; I have to be able to put them on and see how they feel on my hands with my fingers (relatively big palms/knuckles, shorter, stubbier fingers). Beyond that -- decide what you want your gloves to do. Keep your hands warm while still letting you handle your pistol and do reasonable pat downs, or do you want to be able to write tickets, do thorough searches and pick up pennies with them on? I don't think you'll find one glove that does it all...
I wear the Hatch Friskmaster FM2000. They are thick enough that they are puncture resistant yet thin enough that you can still write citation and use your gun with them. They are also warm for the most part.

Turtleskin Duty gloves... They are expensive, but they are supposed to provide some needle protection (in addition to the slash protection of most gloves), and they've saved me a needle stick at least once. They are a bit stiffer than the Hatch gloves, and there is an even thicker version of the glove available called the "search" glove (that provides coverage on the back of the hand).Quote:

Anybody tried the 5.11 gloves?
I'm looking for some new gloves too, and the 5.11s don't have a seam at the fingertip. That made me interested, but I don't know of anyone who owns a pair that I can test drive.
I'll probably go with the Hatch Resistor or FS2000 if I can't find anything out about the 5.11 gloves.
I actually use http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS...gloves&x=0&y=0, not in that color though. They actually last me a long time (4 months). I would go through a pair of uncle mikes about once a month.

They fit good(at least for me), and seem to allow good dexterity. Didn't try the "Isotoner" test with a dime, but they seemed ok.
