Any ideas what this phrase means?

My friend is so upset right now. She just bought this gorgeous new horse trailer and this is what happened to it yesterday, in broad daylight none the less. Hers was the only light colored trailer on the facility so they think that's why it was "targeted." These trailers are parked right by the home the barn owner lives in, and in between the hustle and bustle of a horse barn with 20+ horses on it at any given time. We're not talking about something in the middle of nowhere - there's a neighborhood that has been built up around the farm and this is in one of the "nicer" parts of town though apparently people will do this anywhere.

Anyone have any idea if it's gang related? It is spray painted and says "CRUE," then within the E it says "stop the lies."

I think Motley Crue did a song titled 'Stop the Lies'.

I can check with my next-door gang expert (he really is!), but IMHO, this is a bunch of bored teenagers. Not gang related.

That was my first thought as well when she said it was the name of a band, but she said she ran a web search and couldn't find a song by that name. I should've thought to do one myself and look it up. On that note, why on earth would someone spray paint the name of a song on a horse trailer?

Luckily her insurance covers most of it save for a $100 deductible.

EDIT: I just ran a search and can't find a song by them, by that name. Maybe there's something going on with the band and they're indicating to "Stop the lies" about it?

Because they are dorks? Seriously, I did do a search, and I'm not sure if it's a song title or just a recurrent theme in their music. But I have done some gang research, and I've never seen anything like that. And gangs tend to be more artistic (the tag on the trailer is amateurish). Plus, if they were marking territory, it would be a LOT smaller and there would me more of them. Taggers, however, just like to do graffitti.

Pretty much. We had a heck of a problem with that in Denver a few years back - they were tagging the overhead signs on the interstate.

It's much clearer in person...I definitely had the letters correct. It's not glue, but thanks for the suggestion. It would make more sense at least.
