They are made specifically for badge wallets or ID wallets. You can order them through Blackinton's or other companies that make badges. You do however have to provide credentials and a photocopy of your current issued badge to get one. Most police supply stores can help out so when you get that soon to be Deputy job you can get one of your own! They usually cost around $50 and take a few weeks to come in.
Around here, everyone is issued a flat badge and a uniform badge.

Keep it in your wallet and sit on concrete all day while doing surveillance, That will flatten it up right away.
we are all issued wallet badges and ID cards, we dont wear badgers on our uniforms, not alot of Canadian agencies do. However Saskatoon Police Service has huge uniform badges and Calgary police service has huge wallet badges, us feds have smaller shields, govt always cheaps out! LOLOL>
