I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this, but, What is the law concerning putting paper flyers on cars (under windshield wiper)?
I'd like to do some advertising but don't want to get in trouble for something as stupid as putting flyers on cars. :tinfoil3:
Is it not a good thing to do anymore because of car alarms?
Is it OK in parking lots, streets?
placing fliers on cars is like saying "hey, you throw this away"

Annoy people and litter too - great marketing strategy.
I usually find the guy putting the fliers on cars and cite him/her for littering. $219 fine 'round these parts. :biggrin1:
Funny thing, our court people must hate it too because I've never had an infraction voided.

There isn't a state statute in MN for putting flyers on car (maybe littering), but the town I work in has a solicitation ordinance. You might want to look into that.

I'd have to add that to a list of dislikes as well, annoys the crap out of me! Someone put their business card under my windshield wiper a week or so ago and I kept forgetting to remove it, then it rained and really was a mess.... If the number had not got smeared I believe I would of called and left a "nice" message or delivered it personally.
Suggestion: Yellow pages or advertisement section of the newspaper.
I'm a fan of guerrilla advertising, but that particular method only annoys me.
If I might suggest a way to get your message out, use the local radio station. Offer them an interview in advance (local radio is often dying for content). The local newspaper is open to content offered on a tray too. Go to either with a well written announcement and you'll likely be able to get free, and more effective, press.

Around here, I tend to issue a criminal trespass warning after checking for warrants and then follow them around until they remove all of them. I then ask them if they have them all before they leave. I like to tell them that if I find one later, I'll file an at large citation for littering. It tends to cut down on repeat offenders.
