Wrong colour scheme but this is what mine is like:

I wouldn't mind one of these Subaru Imprezas though:

Or a Mitsubishi Evo VIII

Or one of these!

That pattern on the side most definitely resembles something I'd see on a racetrack up here.

I do like the lights though!

01-27-06, 03:14 AM #28FishTail GuestThe Mondeo ST 220 is by no means an ordinary patrol car, let's make that clear. It's only for specialist traffic department use. I like it though. Does the business, but as you say, it is a bit small for carrying around all the crap that we need.

This baby
This is the van (well the old one) that I get too ride in about once a month. Its on Henry street which is the main shopping street in my district.

And for anyone that interested, POlice vehicles shows cars/vans/etc from about 20 forces. Some good some downright shoddy. You can spot the russian/eusern europe ones a mile off.

Neat! I googled Garda & found the Garda Síochána website. Some interesting FAQ's, History, and other info there:

Not really, but the law says we have to have them (health and safety don't you know).

A 500 series BMW would make me pretty happy.
But, meanwhile in reality..... here is a pic of my beast.

I like the cars you guys have but what gives with the lack of modification? You guys dont have cages either.

Vans have cages mate...

What other modifications are you thinking of?
-

Yeah but no cages in cars and cars are used for prisoners. How about a PC link up as well? we were offered tme but the force declined.

Most forces will not use cars for prisoners. We use vans.
The only force I know of to have mobile data terminals is the met. They'd be nice but I don't feel the loss of not having them.

What about the officer that was shot? Hadnt they placed him the back of the car?

Yes, but he was in the back of the car incident to arrest, to get him out of the way while the car was searched. As far as I can recall, West Yorkshire Police transport prisoners in vans. The only force I've heard of using cars routinely to transport prisoners is Nottinghamshire.
