Body Armor for Cardio training
Any ideas on where I can get a reasonably priced body armor just to use to train/walk/jog with in preparation for the physical fitness test?

Just get a weighted vest approximately 10 lbs, and a 10 lb belt.

Just run. Last time I checked no one runs a physical fitness test with a vest on.

Even if you end up with some department's 20 year old crap you're going to be wasting money better spent elsewhere.

Yeah, you dont really need it. If you are hell-bent on the idea...find yourself an A.L.I.C.E. pack off ebay or military surplus stores, throw in 10-15kgs of rice and find a bunch stairs at a sports ground or similar.

Worry about passing the test and then if you get hired by a department worry about running with gear. Of course when everything is pumping you won't notice the weight of the gear.

When we were in the Academy everyone had to buy a pack and 2 5lb bags of sugar which we did PT with..Upon graduation, in protest everyone used the sugar to bake cookies.

gain 20lbs then run it off, that would help.

We didn't do a PT test in it, but oh did we run in that crap a time or two. I recall a 5 mile run in full duty gear (duty belt, pants, boots, vest, uniform shirt, etc). That sucked.
But, like everyone else said... don't waste the money. Just wrap yourself in sweaty shrink wrap, throw 5 lbs of weight over your shoulders, and start running
If your academy is as sadistic as ours pretends to be sometimes, you'll have plenty of time for that crap once you are hired!

We did the obstacle course in gear, but running was t-shirt and shorts.
Throw some sand in a backpack and cinch it up before you run.
