I was just reading another thread concerning this..at another place.. so here is the question..
Reading Tcleose requirments.... Class A mis. it states within Ten years you are not eligible for licensing, what provision if its over ten years ago???
From the way I read it , you are eligible for licensing if the offense was over ten years ago...
What say you........
It's actually Class B Misd within the past 10 years. If someone has been convicted of a Class B Misd over 10 years ago then they are eligible to be licensed as a peace officer; however, finding a job will be difficult with a conviction. Finding qualified applicants is becoming a big problem in the DFW area so agencies are starting to waive college requirements and are waiving certain previous drug use (if it was loooong ago); however, criminal records are another story. Most agencies, and rightfully so, will not overlook a previous conviction...
Its one of those things that make you go HUH... I just ran his name through the State of Texas Criminal records website that the state has set up and it drew a blank..... It will only show results above a class B misdemeanor, so he may not have a class A as he thinks, ??
