You create the problem by feeding the cats out doors and now you want to kill an animal that is doing you no harm. Shame on you!

If you are "troubled" by having nature in your yard, trap and relocate the critters. All they are trying to do is survive.

I have opossums living in my yard - they have been there for more than the forty years I have lived here. They keep the mouse and rat problems to a minimum, they eat snails and grubs and they bother no one.

Learn to live with the creatures who were here before you were.

Opossums here get in your attic or under the house and cause a huge mess. Armadillo's rut up the yard and hogs do the same thing as well.

I can not believe that this thread has continued this long. It is a friggen possum, for the love of God. This is not a difficult or baffling question. If you don't like 'em, make a more secure garbage can, get rid of the thing, or ignore it. K? K. Can we call this done?

Is it illegal to shoot them with a 22lr or an air rifle? We also have a problem with coons. I tried to get some one out there to trap them but there to dam busy. I got to the point were I wanted to take my 40S&W. We live on an acre whats your input we live in Tampa FL. I know a 22lr isn't that loud please give me suggestions.

A licence is easy to get so is a trap but out here you fend for your self after that unless you pay someone. So I just trap and dispose of them properly just like the game warren told me. Call the game warren before and after you take care of the problem.

IF ALLOWED BY LOCAL LAW, blow guns are an entertaining and rather sporting method of reducing unwanted rodent populations. The darts are inexpensive and they come in various broadhead/hunting versions.

wow you guys like talking about possums lol just watch out for them they can be mean lil suckers i get them in a garbage can infront of my work will walk over to throw something away and theres the large rodent with its mouth open doing some kind of hissing noise lol there teeth like lil hypodermic needles lol
