yes my son downloaded music from winmx 8 months ago and didnt know it was wrong and the minute he knew it was wrong he quit and now i emailed the fbi in georgia and asked them what could happen and then i called the fbi in georgia and asked them if they could use the emails against him and they said no
so should he be ok for sure since what the fbi said

I'm no expert on Federal or Georgia laws pertaining to evidence but I don't see any reason why they couldn't use them against him, if they were so minded.
well see they said they wouldnt use it against him because he didnt sell it and didnt donwload much so they aksed that

No, I am not out to get him. As far as legalities go, it makes a difference if he is a minor or adult.
but they told us he would be fine if he didnt sell it and stuff
and also that they couldnt use the emails against him,would it help if we called back and taped them saying all of that and with there permission of course
and
then we could use that as evidence if they ever tried to do something
would that help him not ever go to prison

My advice would be to stop worrying about it and move on!
I wouldn't worry so much if your son only downloaded a few songs. Especially after the fact that you contacted the FBI and they advised you just to stop downloading. I wouldn't go as far as taping phone conversations just yet. You may want to consider consulting a lawyer with legal expertise in copyright laws on a federal scale.
so it isnt anything worth worrying about even though he is 20 years old and was 19 when he did the downloaidng
