yes my son downloaded music from winmx 8 months ago and didnt know it was wrong and the minute he knew it was wrong he quit and now i emailed the fbi in georgia and asked them what could happen and then i called the fbi in georgia and asked them if they could use the emails against him and they said no
so should he be ok for sure since what the fbi said

I'm no expert on Federal or Georgia laws pertaining to evidence but I don't see any reason why they couldn't use them against him, if they were so minded.

I wouldn't worry so much if your son only downloaded a few songs. Especially after the fact that you contacted the FBI and they advised you just to stop downloading. I wouldn't go as far as taping phone conversations just yet. You may want to consider consulting a lawyer with legal expertise in copyright laws on a federal scale.

Yes! The last thing the FBI wants to do is raid your home over a few songs downloaded off the internet. Things like domestic terrorism and robbery from federal banks take a far higher priority than a few songs. I would stop worrying and get over it. If the FBI even told you not to worry, than don't.

he didnt know it was illegal back then and he downlloaed maybe 200-500 songs and didnt copy them on discs just listened maybe 30 seconds and deleted it
but after he knew it was illegal he stopped

A phone call or email will not hurt your son. If you are really that worried, I would consult a lawyer with legal expertise in copyright laws. I think we have repeated our responses several times in the public forum. That's about all the advice there is to give you.
