August 3rd will be my 40th year wearing the star. (All with the same department.)
Wish it all counted for retirement. (I'd probably have one helluva attitude if it did.)
Actually the first fourteen were as a reserve deputy (unpaid) while I was making some REAL money in the oil field.
Then about two years as a part-time crime scene tech, and this coming July 1st will be number twenty-four full-time.
Therefore 40 all together.
Dayum, I'm not getting old, I AM old!
Overall, it's been a great ride.
