I am curious to know what kind of knives you all carry as apart of your uniform? And how often do you need them. I am looking at the 5.11 inspector with tanto blade.

I carry a swiss army knife. People give me a lot of crap about it... until they ask to borrow it.
I carry a assisted opening Gerber (GREAT knife) everywhere I go, on or off & a KA-BAR TDI most the time
Also have a Leatherman (multi-tool) in my bag...use it quite often to impound plates...
I carry a Kershaw assisted open and a Leatherman... I'm trying to find a TDI to buy.
I also have a couple of Spyderco Enduras that I carry here and there.
I carry a Gerber multi-tool on my gunbelt. In plain clothes, I carry a Victorinox (same folks who make the authentic Swiss Army knives) multitool that I like much more; you can get access to the various blades without opening the pliers, unlike most others.
I also carry either a Spyderco Police model knife or their Byrd Cara Cara, depending mostly on mood, and the simple fact that the Cara Cara is noticeably less expensive, though nearly as good as the mainline Spyderco. Which means it hurts much less if I drop it somewhere...
How often do I use 'em? Seems like I use one function of the multi-tool or another almost every day. The folding knives? I use 'em as tools a lot... never had to use them to fight.
I carry several.
CRKT M16-13Z. After all the years I have been carrying it the clip screws finally need tightening.

I carry a spyderco folder. Never needed it in a fight or really to cut anything. I use it mostly as an entry tool.
Emerson Super 7 here.
Spyderco in my off-side back pocket.
Ka-Bar TDI attached to my radio holder, off-side.
In my pocket I keep a Letherman micro. I have a kill knife tucked away too. Occasionally I carry my Wilson Tactical Cop Tool but the sheath is clumsy so it stays in the gear bag most nights.
i carry metal ones, mostly folding ones
Curious, is it not, that you have posted this very question in at least one other forum? In that forum the reply was that it was a tactical question and not for public discussion; yet, you come into another forum and ask the same question. Is there some underlying purpose in your shopping around?:noidea:
One folding pocket knife and one K-bar TDI.
I carry a big heavy columbia river knife co knife on my strong hand in my cargo pocket for cutting drugs and my nasty work. I then carry an SOG assisted opening knife inside my weak side trouser pocket as a backup weapon.
I carry a S & W SWAT knife from BAUMSHOE.
In my weak hand front pocket a gerber auto opener, in my strong rear pocket a gerber applegate-fairbain folder, a tdi attached to my pants belt, upside down behind my radio and one of those folding razor knives from lowes attached to my vest trauma plate pocket.
Dont ground fight me, you'll get cut. Yes I am paranoid :tinfoil3:. The only time you can have too many weapons is if you are swimming.
I carry the Benchmade 9050 push button auto. It looks cool and opens pretty fast but I don't use it often.
I also have a auto open Benchmade. I carry it daily but it's very expensive and I'll cry if I lose it.:baby: I need to get me a cheap daily carry.
This thread got me looking and drooling:
