Can anyone give me any information on where I can go or who I can speak to about getting registered to take a Crisis Intervention Training to satisfy Senate Bill 1473 (79th R) that amended the Texas Occupations Code 1701.253 and the Texas Education Code to require training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to facilitate interaction with persons with mental handicaps.
Assuming that you are already a peace officer this probably should have been done last TCLEOSE cycle. Check your local law enforcement academy. Many of the community colleges offer law enforcement training so it really depends on what part of the state you are in.
