"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

I have been wearing the Rocky Paratrooper boots for about 1 1/2 years now. I heard lots of good things about them, but I hated them for the first six months or so. I'm ok with breaking in a pair of boots, but it seemed to take forever for these to get there. I won't buy them again. They do look great though.

Police Equipment :: Public Safety Equipment :: Police Uniforms :: 5.11 Tactical :: Duty Gear :: Baumshoe Law Enforcement Supply ::Original SWAT Air M.T. Tactical Waterproof
I like the 5.11 as well but I have been wearing the Original Swat for a while now and they are still as comfy as the day I bought, I mean stole them from the company

The views, opinions, stupid off the cuff comments, mouthy, obnoxious, thoughtless, etc etc etc are not always or even some of the time the belief of my department, so bugger off!

I absolutely love Danners, and have 4 pairs. 3 duty (Acadias 8 yrs old, Acadia Elite 3 yrs old, and recently retired Ft Lewis had for 14 yrs). They take a beating, can be resoled or recrafted. Yes you spend a bunch up front, but the return is only spending 50-70 every couple of years for upkeep. Beats spending 100+ every year for new boots.
I also picked up a pair of the new Adidas GSG-9.2 for light duty/detail work. I got a great deal so it was worth a shot.
Like anything else boots are a personal preference thing. Some fit better than others. Try them on, ask around and see what you are the most comfortable with. I have a Sgt who only wears the Magnums because he is comfortable with them, even though he has to replace them every year

I wear 5.11 Warrior Series Tac Boots, these things are comfortable. There not all leather so they won't help you much. They don't work well in the winter unless you wear a heavy sock with them. My feet sweat heavily so finding a boot that allows me feet to breath is what I've longed for. This tac boot allows my feet to breath and stay warm and dry (from sweat not the elements).
Just because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!
