healthy retirement is my goal and listening to the guys/gals close to retirement complain about their lower backs, I'm wondering if this little contraption is worth the $180ish...

I'd just suggest a pair of suspenders.

Interesting. I had not seen them but see no reason that they wouldn't work. I have used the suspenders for years and like those very much, especially since my belt was somewhat heavy with a .45 Glock and lots of extra ammo.
We need one of our own to try therm out.
