Depends on which part of the county you are in. In one part I would call it a sure trip to court. In another I would call it a warrant to be.

Countywide it's just called a ticket. Here in Oakland it's one of the things we mean when we say we hooked someone up.

Civil violations such as traffic tickets are called "Vermont Civil Violation Complaint" and criminal offenses get citations.
