I think B is Boy and C is Charles. I am sure Z stands for Zebra.

There are a couple of "standard" phonetic alphabets in use. If you search the web for them, you'll find them. And, then, you have the folks who get creative...Quote:

We had an officer who wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. If we didn't know the phonetic immediately, we just use a word that started with the letter.
Well, this guy... he's used words like "N knife" and "Z Xylophone".
He also was out on a wreck one time and called for an ambulance and stated "The driver is subconscious at this time."

Way back when, when we called in all names for D.L.'s I stopped a Hmong named something like "Xiongxiphong. " I tried to pronounce it and told the dispatceher, "Common spelling." She was not amused.
