When callin a lincense plate what words go along with the letters?
I think B is Boy and C is Charles. I am sure Z stands for Zebra.

There are a couple of "standard" phonetic alphabets in use. If you search the web for them, you'll find them. And, then, you have the folks who get creative...

We had a new dispatcher one day, with no prior related experience, so no experience with phonetic alphabets. I slipped one day and called a tag is is "Sierra Foxtrot Alpha 1234" or the like... We had an officer who wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. If we didn't know the phonetic immediately, we just use a word that started with the letter.
Well, this guy... he's used words like "N knife" and "Z Xylophone".
He also was out on a wreck one time and called for an ambulance and stated "The driver is subconscious at this time."

Military alphabet here. Just makes sense considering we talk to the FAA Control Tower once in a while when we need to cross runways.
