Snacks on patrol
What do you like to munch on in the car while on patrol? I am wierd but I like to eat raw radishes with salt on them, sunflower seeds, Hershey's chocolate bars, Jolly Ranchers, and beef jerky (my home made stuff...The store bought stuff isn't as good as mine).................not all at once, of course!

Pretzels, and sun chips, with the occasional diet coke, or water.

Any Diet Soda, Water, Beef Jerky, Cheetoes, but make sure you wipe your hands off be for you run traffic. Spicy Peanuts, and once in a while a DQ Blizzard.
Just because your sign off after you're shift is done, doesn't mean that it's over and put blinders on. You're a cop 24/7 wether you like it or not. If thats something you can't handle, you should find a new line of work!

05-18-06, 07:54 PM #7never know I fish in MN I may wander that way. We have a place here on Ashland that makes there own root beer as well. Really good stuff. And speaking of wiping your hands before running plates....good idea. Some of our PDT's are disgusting. Opening it up is like opening a level 2 hazmat situation.

Anytime, my friend. But please don't call me "sir". My friends call me "dog" or you can call me anything except late for happy hour! Peace and be SAFE!

Depends on the weather. Warmer months its a Diet Pepsi from the fountain or a bottle of PROPEL flaveored water. Usually a protein bar or a pack of the new REESES trail mix. AWESOME snack, has peanuts, reeses peanut butter things, peanut butter chips and sunflower seeds..

Come on people, give me a break !! How many times does it take to relieve another officer and find crumbs all over the seat or slippery steering wheel from greasy food. Then, we enter to find sunflower seeds all over the floor.... PLEASE clean up after yourself, this is our home for 8 to 12 hours a day and no one needs that !! How do you think we would look to callers with crap all over our uniforms..
Just consider your relief and other officers. I ONLY snacked when stopped and standing outside the vehicle or in a store so that I wouldnt dirty the vehicle or my uniform.
I also tried not to smoke with another officer in the car unless I had the window open half way and the cigarette propped near it.
All I am saying is try to be considerate of fellow workers both officers and civilians and your dispatchers as they are talking one to one to you BUT they are listening to as many as10 to 20 others cops and monitor their computer screens. Let them get excited and yell and YOU remain calm which will help calm them or also C.Y.A.
Take care and Be safe outthere ALL !!

Root beer, Mountain Dew, Gatorade.....and my latest snack craving lately has been ice cream. We have a place here that makes all its own ice cream that kicks ass.

Don't mean to pick a fight but some of us have our own cars and don't have to share. Even if we don't and you have to partner up,can you honestly say that you have never farted in the car or burped with cheeseburger breath or any other rude socio-whoops?
Come on, now.

I always made my own dried fruits and jerkey. We have take home cars in my department and I hate a greasy steering wheel.

I used to deal with this Armenian dude that ran the convenience store across the street from our site. I'd go in at closing time and make an offer for the leftover chicken wings and tater wedges. I could feed the whole shift of 4 officers and the dispatcher for abour 6 bucks.
It was really tasty stuff, too!"My motivation is slipping, people bug me, and I'm tired of wasting my time on drivel."
