Can You Cross The Border?

Serious question here, folks. I'm not just some bumper humper asking how big your stick is...............I heard that, if you have any type of drug or alcohol or gun conviction on your criminal record, you are not allowed to travel to Canada. I heard that, obviously, they can't check everyone. But they check people at random as you try to enter the great land of snow bunnies and sled dogs and, if you signal red on their computer check, you get turned back. Maybe some of our fine friends to the north could answer this. Or ICE agents. Or Border Patrol. Anyone?

And NO, SHREK! Before you even ask.........this is not about ME! Don't have any of that shit on my record and besides, if I had the money and time off I would go South. Waaaaaaaaay South!!!

I cross the US/CAN boarder several times a year with no problems :thumb:

I have gone to the Great White North a few times with no probs. I have been across with my Uncle a few times who is scumbag numero uno. No problems from that end.

To be honest, I used to be married to a Mexican woman and GODDAMN! That was the sexiest, wildest, sweatiest, hottest, down and dirty, take a shot of Cuervo and do it again, no holds barred animal lovin' I have ever had! WOW! Too bad she was doing it with everyone else. I miss that bitch.....at least when she was drunk and horny............anyway, I digress. Just as in the US, Canada has immigration laws that prohibit persons with convictions of certain crimes from entering Canada without first applying and getting approved for a waiver for admissability.

In the US the list of crimes are called CIMTs crimes involving moral turpitude. I am not sure of what Canada considers CIMTs. But you are correct.

One major difference between Canada's list of CIMTs and ours- you are inadmissable to Canada if you have a drinking and driving conviction.

It used to be you could cross...recross and cross again without any problems. Then they would check at random. As of January 1, 2007 passports will be required. I am not sure if they are planning to ck each one or the random checks but it is a little harder to 'cross over'.

They're not gonna solve this with documentation and "deny entry" database lists. It has to be biometrics (fingerprints, eye scans, even DNA when instant DNA recognition is a reality - I think it's only a matter of time), and "permit entry" database lists - Then if your chosen body part isn't on the list, none of your body parts get to come into the country.

They aren't checking anyone. If they did, 19 hijackers might not have gotten across into the USA.

Exactly - And from what the 9/11 commission said, the passports were such poor forgeries that anyone should heve been able to spot them - But next time the forgeries may be better, so even if we inspect them closer, it probably won't make any difference.
