Depending upon what kind of gear (nylon) do what I did.. Our dept uses Class B Nylon gear- wear the pants belt velcro side out, then I put pieces of velcro on the back side of the pouches, Taser holster, etc. so when the belt is on those item are gripped by the pants belt- no shifting!
You could probably modify this to put pieces of velcro on the inside of a leather belt and on the pouches, etc with some work too I suppose...
What I did and what works very, very well for me. I put small pieces of foam (like the soft squishy kind you find in a craft store) between the accessory (cuff case or whatever) and the duty belt. It keeps tension on the accessory and doesn't hurt when you wear it. Works well.

I use the innerbelt that sticks to the outer belt......and 4 belt keepers

They are both velcro lined/connected and the velcro connecting between the pants belt and the utility belt will help to keep the equipment in place. Of course, it will give some if you take an impact or some similar force on the accessory item, but that is probably more of a blessing than a curse. I also found that it was necessary to use 4 belt keepers to secure the rig on my waist. I use 1 keeper in left front, one in right front - just in front of holster and behind mag pouch, one in left rear - wherever is most comfortable, and one in right rear - also wherever most comfortable.
Tac rigs are somewhat different, but the same basics apply...
If you're rig is not of the velcro variety, the only thing I ever found to keep stuff in place was belt keepers.

I have a reversible inner belt (velcro on one side, B/W on the other) and both my nylon and leather duty belts have velcro backing. I also wear a total of SIX keepers that leave all items in place without issue.
+1 on the keepers.
I use four keepers on my belt. 1 on either side of my holster (helps keep the holster rock solid for drawing the weapon, and keeps other gear from interfering with my weapon --- I don't let anything get in the way of the gun, and I keep no other gear on that side of the belt). The other two keepers are spread on either side of the other gear on the opposite side of the belt.
If you have patent leather gear, arrange it the way you want it and let it sit in your car on a hot day. It shrinks it slightly around the belt. A word of advice, don't leave your pepper spray in there with it if you do this. I recommended that technique to a rookie and didn't think to bring that point up. Let's just say he couldn't drive that car for a while.

I thought that too OD, but my belt eventually ended up sliding up in the back when sitting in the cruiser. Maybe the belt was getting old, but the keepers fixed that problem.Quote:

Make sure to get belt keepers, If some is ever tries to get your gun you will see how much the shit still moves, without my belt keepers i can tell you my gun would have been in the middle of my back were it would have been very hard to protect from the guy attempting to take it.
Luckily, I'm only a Reserve Officer (which in Minnesota is a glorified security guard) so I don't have a gun to protect. I do have four belt keepers though, but they aren't very tight, so they slide too. I'll go to Walmart later and look for some velcro.Quote:
