Do You Mind Calls Like This?
I am getting so sick of kids riding motorized scooters in front of my house. Our local laws say that they have to be at least 16, have helmets and stay off the sidewalk, but those laws are rarely followed. I've seen these kids almost run into baby strollers and wheelchairs. I'm tired of the noise and the smell of the gas.
So today I finally called the police. Now I'm feeling a little silly about calling for such a relatively small thing, so I was wondering how you guys feel about "silly" calls like this.

Understandably you dislike what is going on, and it was important enough to you to call us. So its important enough for me to check it out and enforce the laws.
I dont mind at all.

I get calls all the time for 4 wheelers, motorcycles, even people just walking....really depends on how busy we are if I get a little annoyed with this type of call.....at least most of these calls are to patrol the area......the ones where the person wants us to come to their home so they can complain bothers me more when we are very busy.....we come to your home to talk about someone who isn't even there anymore anyway.......So to be politically correct....oh we love these kinds of calls.......if safety is a factor.....I'm all for safety.
Any Post I make is my opinion only!
I do not have the authority or the permission to post for my Sheriff's Office.

Thanks, guys.
Political correctness in an Ask a Cop forum? That's no fun.

I don't mind going to calls. Even the "silly" ones. All I ask is that people be patient in regards to arrival time and what we are capable of doing. Just remember that we attend all kinds of calls all day and it can wear you down. The last thing I need is to be yelled at and wrongly criticized because I didn't get there fast enough. I'm not implying that anyone here would do that. I'm just speaking in general terms as to what happens from time to time.

I agree with lesta. Different calls get different priority. It not our fault if we are busy at the moment, and it might be awhile to get to your call. BUT we will get there. And yes, if annoys you that much that you call the police it is not silly.

Thanks everybody for your responses. I promise I will never yell at a cop for not getting there fast. I never even saw a cop show up yesterday, and I didn't get mad.
