Police from Canada

Hi guys!

I was curious to see how many officers there were from Canada (both R.C.M.P. and muni. forces) on the forums.
If you are, do you have any advice for a person going in to be a police officer in Canada? etc.

Muni guy here... I can give some general advice, like:

Stay fit
Keep your nose clean
Volunteer
Do things that put you into contact with members of the public
Don't give up if you don't get hired the first time

Remember, the three main ingredients that seperate a wannabe from a member are: lying, stealing, and booze.

To come to think of it, these things will ruin the career of a serving member, too. For males, add... women.

Be a continuous learner
Be a Leader (if you aren't create opprotunities to become one)
Be a Team Player
Experience Life - travel, date, live on your own, be involved.

And learn about the police department or police force you want to apply too.
