What better way to destroy our country than to destroy the morale of our military!
A copy of an e-mail I received from a veteran website.
CHECK THIS OUT, AMAZING!!!!
What better way to destroy our country than to destroy the morale of our military!
anyone still thinking that Snopes is an unbiased authority needs to read the disgusting doubletalk in their commentary on this issue.
Obama: "Nobody made these guys go to war...........”[/INDENT]
HERE IS OBAMA'S EXPLANATION WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS PROPOSAL TO REQUIRE VETERAN'S TO CARRY PRIVATE INSURANCE FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans to carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries
to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
“Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute...” "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued… ”I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."
REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT... "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?
Please pass this to on to every American as a reminder how this man thinks. 2010 can't come soon enough!!!

is this an actual quote? if so, that could be the most fucked up thing ive ever heard a politician say on any level. i, unfortunately, never had the pleasure of serving in the military, but i do have all the respect in the world for those who have served. this is a complete slap in the face to their service, and im actually insulted by this. what an asshole.
in the warriors code there's no surrender, though his body says stop, his spirit cries...NEVER. deep in our souls, a quiet ember, knows its you against you, its the paradox that drives us all. its a battle of wills, in the heat of attack, its the passion that kills, and victory is yours alone.
the posts and opinions stated by me do not in any way reflect the values, beliefs, or views of my department. they are simply opinions and/or observations which have been developed through my personal experiences. hell, most of the stories probably arent even true...wink wink

I heard part of his speach the day he made it - Not only is this an outrage because it divorces the Federal Government of responsibility for the well being of its troops, it would also be a huge and unfair burdon on Reservists' employers, and everyone who works there.
A couple of million-dollar war injury claims would almost surely cause a small employer to loose their insurance carrier or cause their risk factor to go up, which might be the difference between marginally-paid employees being able to afford the premiums.
As usual, Obama did what sounds good to the radical left, but didn't stop to think there's a lot of radical left who would loose their insurance because of that, and I don't think his followers understand that, or care unless it happens to them.
But really none of that applies - What presidential idiot hasn't read an insurance policy and saw the clause that excludes any injuries arising from acts of war???

I was unable to open the YouTube videos but is this really true? When, before the election or after?
“Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute...” "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued… ”I wasn't asking for blood, just money. My goodness, I'm sure democrat parents with kids in the military have to be concerned about their leader. If this is true, and their has been no serious fallout from such a statement, that tells me how powerful and untouchable Obama really is.
During my military service, as screwed up as the Vietnam war was, even Johnson and Nixon never made such a statement. You young guys heard of Vietnam, right? As today's police officers you are not unlike your counterparts of years past. You are an elite group of select members, a brotherhood of highly trained professionals, who are called upon to protect your community in a time of need. Guardians for safety. Being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. You must be honest, trustworthy and fearless in the face of evil. You are being watched everyday. Represent yourself, your department and the shield, for it should always be the embodiment of all that is good and justly. You are the thin blue line. Be proud, be tough and be safe.

From what I have read on various sites, this was his opinion both before and after the elections. I dont usually pay too much attention to these e-mails, but I did receive it from several people who are currently deployed and some of this can be checked with google and such. It seems like more and more he is trying to change our country from USA to USSA (Union of Socalists States of America).

For anyone that had trouble with the links, they're fixed now.
Has anyone been able to verify the quote? As much as I would love for that to be on the record somewhere, I can't imagine he'd actually be dumb enough to be recorded saying it."If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge." -- Ronald Reagan, in the wake of the deaths of 4 CHP troopers in the Newhall Incident, 1970

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.
