NSFW-Another Kind of Battle
121Traffic's thread made me think of this video, that I got from a marine buddy. I tried to put it on the web before, but it was deleted by youtube and google. Go figure.
This is a picture video of the 86th Combat Support Hospital. It's graphic (and some nudity.) It's was originally 20 minutes long, only 10 made it on here. Makes you think twice...

Wow.

Awesome vid. What's the vocal song that's playing throughout the first part?
"If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge." -- Ronald Reagan, in the wake of the deaths of 4 CHP troopers in the Newhall Incident, 1970

That is a powerful video

Thanks to the 86th CSH for being there for our wounded warriors. May the burden they carry from the carnage of war they were exposed to be tempered by the knowledge that they saved countless lives and limbs.
SI VIS PACEM PARA BELLUM-Ex-Sheriff Martin Howe to Will Kane in "High Noon"
"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

Okay, I found it. It was composed by Marta Keen. This version was recorded by the BYU Choir. Trying to find a copy of it.

You beat me to it. We sang this in my LDS church choir one Sunday. Very moving song. It'll bring one to tears. It did for me. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir also has a version of it.
121traffic, I hope that I didn't steal your thunder in posting these links below.
If anyone is interested a CD is available through either of these links. I'm pretty sure this is the BYU Choir one.

I owe my life to a couple of combat medics and an Air Force Pararescueman, enough said. All those field medical personel have my upmost respect and appreciation.
