Trooper Blanton benefit match Sept 13
Just thought I would bring this over from another forum. I'm not involved with this (it's several hours away). I'm not sure if there's still enough time to register or not, but I thought maybe some of you would at least like to be aware of it:
All match fees will be donated to the family of Trooper Blanton who killed in the line of duty on June 17, 2008.

Trooper Blanton's son has passed away
May he rest in peace...

Asheville, N.C. — The infant son of a slain trooper died late Thursday at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, according to hospital officials.
Tye Blanton was born prematurely, two weeks before his father's death.
Trooper David Shawn Blanton, 24, was shot to death in June during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near Canton.
The public reached out to help his wife, Michaela Blanton, who was dealing with her husband's death and their infant son's medical problems.
Lara Feinberg, president of Families for Roadside Safety, Inc., sent an e-mail Friday morning announcing the news that Tye had died. Asheville hospital officials confirmed the news.
Tye underwent heart surgery at Duke University Children's Hospital in Durham last month. At the time, hospital officials said he had a number of serious medical conditions, including heart problems.
The State Employees Credit Union set up a fund for the Blanton family. Donations can be made at any North Carolina SECU branch.
In July, a Haywood County Superior Court judge ruled that prosecutors could seek the death penalty against Edwardo Wong III, 37, of Ormond Beach, Fla., who is charged in Blanton’s death.
