WTF?

I was at a gun shop about 40 miles south. I made a special trip to buy an AR. I found a Rock River Arms M4 for a good deal of $825. I went to make the purhcase but they needed 3 forms of ID to rove citizenship. I had my drivers license and police ID. They also needed a passport (don't have one) or voter registration card (didn't have it with me) or birth certificate (don't routinely carry it with me).

Due to state law of requiring that odd 3rd form to prove citizenship I couldn't get it. I walked out empty handed. A requirement to be a police officer in this state is you have to be a citizen but the police ID wasn't enough. :noidea:

I'm sorry that really sucks and seems ridiculous. :( Are you going to go back and get it or just forget it?

Yeah that is understandable...40 miles is quite a distance. :( Maybe you can find one closer that someone is selling? I would like to get one next year; but of course, it will be pink :)

Thats why I buy from the guy at work with a FFl or a local dealer that loves LE. I wanted a RRA but the co-worker could not find anyone to buy from.

Personally I would not sell you a sling shot. You look like a "cell member"

This shop is a LE dealer. That price is a lot cheaper than I can find local.

That's BS - I can walk out 30 minutes later with an AR or Barrett .50 cal if I wanted to, and only have to show my DL & CHL.
