Because you won't need it after the Earth gets swallowed up by a black hole! :p
Because you could put the money back for something that you and your kids could do together.
Well, the fine folks around here didn't do a fine job of talking me out of buying my Sig Mosquito, and I suspect the same will happen here! That said, buy it!!! I would :)
I have a plan, I'll slowly save up for it, and if I still want it when I've got twice what it will cost, then I'll get it. Until then, the kids and I have fun. :D
thanks
That sounds like a smart idea, NSB
Because the M1A was never designed to use a short gas system, and you could build a better M1A for less than Springfield wants for that one.
I want one too... I'm slowly saving up for it. If you get it before me then let me know how you like it. I already have a Springfield Loaded M1A and that is a great rifle!
Buy it. Just buy it! Take out a second loan against your house, borrow against your kids college fund, whatever!:D
theyre really heavy
You could save the money that you are planning to spend on that and get laid.

SCREW getting laid....if Obama gets in you won't be able to buy a water pistol.
Go for it, Big Guy!
Car 4:mad:
Judging from the above replies I have nothing to add here but a drunken ROLL TIDE!!!!
You shouldn't BUY one. You should INVEST in one. I can even provide you with the investment opportunity. :D
A friend has a SOCOM and has extraction problems with it. I picked up a Robar M1A rework similar to SOCOM, real cheap after noting the chamber must have been cut with a cement drill. Polished the chamber works fine. No other bad stuff about the SOCOM but I prefer the full size M-1A. Stock up on magazines while you can. If the "election" goes in the crapper, expect your rights and LEO exemptions to be "re-defined".
Your oath of office might be re-defined as well............
The Army's CMP sales still has some M-1 Garands. I bought an H-R service grade 1953 mfr, from them for $595, very good condition and it shoots well
