Before you bling it out with all of the tacticool crap, go forth and get trigger time on it. Shake it out and make sure the parts work like they are supposed to. Nothing worse than to buy the cool stuff then get a rifle that has issues.
But the Armalite will do you fine for patrol work. Use good parts and you will be fine.

my barrel is 14.5", but I have a phantom flash hider, which makes it to 16". Thus being said, it is also pinned in place with a #10 weld. It can be taken off, but will be a pain but also makes it legal. If it wasn't pinned, I would be breaking some laws.

You cant go wrong with colt, bushmaster, or RRA all are quality guns.

Ahem.
A tax stamp is required for any SBR, that is a rifle with a barrel of less than 16 inches.
The reason that weapon does not require a stamp is because the flash hider has been welded on so as not to be removable, which may achieve the 16 inches required.
Otherwise, the weapon can only belong to your agency.

lol...I understand. I was under the impression that 14" or shorter you needed a stamp, but i was wrong!!
