Suggestions for AR parts - starting with Bolt Carrier Group
Any suggestions for a quality Bolt Carrier Group? I dont see one on the Sun Devil Mfg price list unless it also goes by another name. I want to stick with parts with proven quality.

Patriot Ordinance Factory (POF) makes pretty decent stuff. I'm running one of their piston-operated uppers right now.

There is also a website www.ar15-kits.com that I found that seems to have good prices. I don't have any experience with their stuff though.

Thanks and please keep the suggestions coming! I especially would like suggestions on which brands are known to be the best quality, despite price.

Rock River Arms is arguably among the best that I'm aware of. I have one of their AR's and I love it.

I, too, own a RRA and love it.....however, the "experts" at m45carbine.net say that RRA's (and Bushmasters and a few others) have deficient BCGs because the gasy key is not properly staked and a bunch of other shit.

You are going to find snobs that nitpick stuff everywhere you go. Just think about the "Comic Book Guy" on the Simpsons, "This is the WORST episode EVER!" Imagine him talking about guns.

I'm sure every brand out there is going to have some "defect" that somebody can point a finger at. In the end though, RRA has an outstanding reputation. Their manufacturing, at least at the time I bought mine, is very high quality and I don't think she can go wrong buying parts from them. The downside though is that she's probably going to pay good money for those parts. You get what you pay for though. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.

If you are looking for parts, and quality parts at that, bite the financial bullet and get Colt parts from Ken Elmore at Specialized Armament Warehouse .
Frankly, LMT, Colt, SOME DPMS parts I would recommend. Other brands have turned me off as their parts are either reverse engineered, soft or crappily finished.
