By Associated Press YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A man was shot to death outside a residence in Yakima and police believe it was a justifiable homicide by a man being mugged.

Police responded to a report of shots fired Monday night and found one man, Michael Valadez, with head and arm injuries, and another man, Franklin McWain, fatally wounded.

Valadez says he was outside the residence to pick up a friend when the other man struck him in the head with a stick and demanded his money. Valadez, who has a concealed weapons permit, shot McWain at least twice.

Police found a broken stick that was apparently used in the attack. Valadez suffered a broken arm.

Police say McWain had a criminal record of six felony convictions and 27 misdemeanor convictions.

Yet another predator who didn't belong in a free society after being given (at least) 36 chances. Thanks to the habitually lacking criminal injustice system, he was allowed to roam freely and his life had to be ended by another citizen who must now pick up the pieces of a shattered psyche.

In my jursdiction the DA will let him plead to 1 or 2 of the charges and dismiss the rest. So he was probably charged with at leat twice as many crimes as he was convicted of, and people wonder why the police officers are cynical.:biggrin1:
