I was just issued an M14 rifle from the department. I was never in the military, so it was fun to shoot what is considered one of the best battle rifles of all time!

Nice looking weapon , Snuffy.
Looks like it's seen some use over the years. Just adds to it's aura. You pull it out and people will think it's gotten those dings and dents from years of service with you. You'll instantly be labeled as a hard ass seen it all and done that cop.
Very cool.
I got one a few weeks ago, an H&R, and it has the USGI selector lockout on it limiting it to semi-auto. Mine has the birdcage style flash hider too. Is your selector switch functional? It looks like the one on the automatic M14 I messed with at a range day.
Damn, Snuffy....them are good guns! I carried one for four years in the big green machine and shot expert with it every year. You can really reach out and touch someone with it. Love that Gun!
My D.I., SFC James Browning, could hit a man size pop up off hand at 800 meters. He wouldn't take anything less from his troops....so I learned it real good.
Those are going for quite a piece of change from Springfiled Armory in new condition.
Car 4:D
I have a National Match "civilian" one from Springfield Armory. It reaches out and touches things with amazing accuracy. It is one of my favorite rifles.
Very cool Snuffy :thumb:
Me likie!
I'll trade you my mini-14 for it . It will fit beter in your unit.:D
Nice rifle!
I managed to convert one from a seizure into our department armory, but there is something wrong with it I have not attended to yet.
Nice. I have never fired one before....love them rifles though. My M16 and I are having an affair I like it so much. :D (and NOT that kind of affair...just a few nice dates to the range lol)
Very nice, Snuffy! Enjoy!
Hooah!
Not sure I would want to try to rock and roll with a 7.62mm NATO rifle. Machine gun sure but a rifle in that caliber? Uh no. Semi-auto is the better way to go. It works better with the M4 carbine or a 9mm subgun.
Full auto is useful for grins, entertainment, and infantry fire support.
An LEO working gun should be semi-auto.
