There's a gun show this weekend in Birmingham, AL. I'm gonna try to see if I can get some small pistol primers. They didn't have any at the last gunshow.
The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government.

I can't report on reloading stuff, but I just went to China Mart to check on ammo. Nothing to speak of regarding 38, 9mm, etc. Some shotgun ammo. I did buy one of the three boxes on the empty shelf of Winchester 555 bulk, 22 LR ammo. Tax and all out the door was $17.00.
As today's police officers you are not unlike your counterparts of years past. You are an elite group of select members, a brotherhood of highly trained professionals, who are called upon to protect your community in a time of need. Guardians for safety. Being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. You must be honest, trustworthy and fearless in the face of evil. You are being watched everyday. Represent yourself, your department and the shield, for it should always be the embodiment of all that is good and justly. You are the thin blue line. Be proud, be tough and be safe.

Things are improving here in Idaho. At least where I live. The panic mode seems to be letting up a little.

I am thinking the corner may have been turned. Maclean and I just got back from the monthly Gun Show in Monroe....and we saw lots of:
Low cost AR-15
Reloading supplies
Ammo
Misc including Mags
One of the guys had new AR-s for $850.00 that looked good. Another had .223 ammo, 1000 rounds for $330.00 and so on and so on. Mac was looking very hard at a Marlin .444 for $475.00. Only 11 rounds through it...beautiful gun. A guy had a complete AK with case and a slew of extras for $670.00.

I would like my country back. I used to believe that one man could never destroy this country. Not so sure anymore!

I don't think that people are any less afraid of what Obama's gun policies will be. Unfortunately, I just think the market has become saturated for the moment. Everyone that wanted to hurry up and buy their first gun, buy an AR, etc. before the door shut on them, has pretty much done so. Not that that's a bad thing...I'm all for more responsible folks getting into guns. Now the rest of us that have long-established shooting hobbies or that NEED to train for work can get back to life as usual...for a while anyway.
I think you'll see the whiplash start up again when we actually get to the point that Obama starts pushing his anti-2A agenda."If anything worthwhile comes of this tragedy, it should be the realization by every citizen that often the only thing that stands between them and losing everything they hold dear... is the man wearing a badge." -- Ronald Reagan, in the wake of the deaths of 4 CHP troopers in the Newhall Incident, 1970

I think it's already started... I saw NYC Mayor Bloomberg on Meet the Press this morning talking about the evil NRA, and how the NRA wants criminals to have guns.
Of course, when he was asked about law-abiding people and the 2nd Amendment, he said that he believed wholeheartedly in the 2nd Amendment, and wanted law abiding people to have guns.
Then he went over how he helped defeat the NRA-sponsored National Concealed Handgun law, and how scary it was that the measure got a majority vote in both the House and Senate.
So let me get this straight: He believes in the right to bear arms for law-abiding people, but then when a law comes up that just allows licensed law-abiding people with background checks to bear arms, you fight for its defeat???
How can people actually believe anything this con man has to say, when he contradicts himself in the space of five minutes?

Speaking of the NRA and LE, I just got back from my local county fair and I thought it was really great that these two organizations had booths right next to each other. Seems like they go hand in hand, right?

I would say so, even though the NRA has at times sued Law Enforcement agencies that violated the 2nd Amendment (for example the agencies participating in the gun roundup in the wake of Katrina).
The NRA is in favor of keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, but it wants to do it by more forcibly enforcing existing criminal laws against murder, robbery, assault, etc, and longer sentences for violent gun crimes - rather than subjecting law-abiding gun owners to a bunch of registrations and restrictions that do not deter criminals from obtaining guns by theft or via the black market. The registration issue has historically been the major contention point that a lot of northern politicians will not let go of, even though most criminals are not going to register their guns.

I'm glad I stocked up during the Rodney King Riots. My guard unit was sent there without ammo. Long Beach P.D gave us 223, 45auto & 12ga ammo for the whole company. As soon as our "Military ammo" arrived I was tasked with going to each post and exchanging that nasty civilian ammo for GI. I then took the ammo back to Long Beach P.D. and tried to give it back and was told we don't want it we already ordered replacement ammo for the old stuff. So they never accepted it and the unit said get rid of it so I did.
