Mini-14 Help!!!!
Any one here have experience with the trigger assembly on a Mini-14??
I accidentally removed the rear magazine latch from the trigger housing while I was cleaning it.
For the life of me I cannot figure out how to reset the latch spring back in the housing and and reinstall the latch and the pivot pin all at the same time.
The whole thing seems simple but for some reason I just cannot get it.
I rather not take it to my gun guy for this, $40.00 minimum for him to do it.

Best I can do from here is point you at the exploded drawing at Brownells.

Search YouTube. There are video snittpets of the armorer's course on there. I'm sure you will find it there.

Thanks mac... Ya, I already have the exploded schematic. My issue isn't where or how its suppose to fit back together, its how to maneuver the spring and pivot pin back w/o the dam thing popping out. Not much room to work with. I can tell that I would make a lousy surgeon...
I just went and got a set of small bent needle nose pliers I think may help.

Were you able to find a video on YouTube? It helped me with my Mini-30 breakdown and assembly.

It took me two hours and a lot of cuss words to re-assemble my wife's Ruger Mk III .22 target pistol after replacing the receiver, so I can imagine. I knew how it went back together, but it seems to have a mind of its own.

Hell, I had a really hard time getting the bolt back in the Mini-30. It took about 25 minutes....until I took out the bolt catch, then it slid right in.

We had some issues with the Mini's as well. Sorry I'm no help. For laughs though, I'll tell you what I told my boss. Leave that rifle as is, and get me an M-4. He didn't like that one.
