Help please
I'm trying to repair a firearm for a friend. It used to belong to his father, and I think is likely about 50 years old. It is a Western Field Model ENH-560-8a. It's a 12 ga pump action, and the problem with it is the feed tray does not drop all the way down when the action is open. It has a lot of movment to it if I manipulate it manually, however, it feels like the spring is weak or missing entirely.
I've tried doing some searches on line, but I can't seem to find a diagram, parts list, or a supplier of parts. Any suggestions?

To narrow the field: Blue Book of Gun Values has a section cross-referencing "Store Brands". Western Field is Montgomery Wards and most of the guns built were by Mossberg or Savage or Marlin. A lot of these old guns were made pre-1968 and a serial # was not required. There may be another model number or stock number on the gun.
Sometimes a complete cleannig and a bit of oil will free up an inner part. If you do not know how to detail strip it - dont. Take the stocks off and soak the metal parts in cleaning solvent a few days. Check the screws on the side of the receiver for tight, they hold the springs that affect the feeding mechanism. If a spring feels weak, some time a gentle hand "re-bend" will reset the trension on the spring.

Western Field Shotguns should have patent marks from the manufacturer on them.
They were made for Montgomery Ward by various manufacturers.
In the back of Blue Book of Gun Values you should find a store brand crossover list.
According to mine, that's a Mossberg or Noble. I need more info.
