Sig P229 in 40 S&W

Picked up a police turn in Sig P229 yesterday that I had on layaway and went to the range afterwards. I fired 150 rounds of 165 grain FMJ ammo (100 rounds) of Winchester White box from Walmart and (50 rounds) of American Eagle 165 grain FMJ through the P229 not a hiccup or jam. Nice tight groups at 15-7 yrds. Double action trigger is smooth and clean, the single action is just as good. I'm very pleased and got a good deal $433 out the door with (3) 12 round magazines and a gray plastic case. It has some finish wear but otherwise good condition. I'm waiting on on a IWB holster from R Grizzle, the SMR right hand in black, but I have a couple of holsters that will fit the P229 until the custom holster comes in. It's going to be my new carry gun.

I LOVE my 226 in 40....Sometimes I wish I got a 229 instead, but either way, Sig makes a smooth shooter. Nice deal, btw...That's less than half what you can pick up a new one WITH a good deal.

Cool. The only sig I own is a P239. It's a nice gun but I don't like the trigger. I'm going to order a trigger reset kit and see if that makes an improvement.

I've carried the 229R for several years now. Love the gun, I hope we never go to a standard carry weapon since that will be a Glock. The price paid by the original poster was awesome as I paid just shy of 800 for mine new.
