New Duty pistola
I waited 17 months for this fucker.
It was worth everyday and every penny ($3,000) (I paid $2,250 with the SA LEO price tag)
Springfield Custom shop 1911, chambered in 9mm.
Based on the FBI/HRT gun in .45 ( Springfield Professional )
I have 750 rounds through it without a hiccup. I took it to my 'smith today for a 10-8 flat trigger install and a little trigger work (not that it needs it
)
I'm running a Safariland 6320 at the moment but it looks like the ALS is wearing the finish near the ejection port on the top of the slide. I have a 6280 I'm gonna use instead I think.
I have a Hoffners quad mag carrier as well. Thinking about trying a Safariland 775 too to free up some belt space.
This gun is more accurate than I am. It's wearing a X200 with the DevGru pressure switch.
Daddy like, nom nom nom nom.

As long as you don't get steak on it.

You just answered the question for me, but I'll elaborate.
- I love 9mm. Almost no recoil or muzzle rise from a 5 inch 1911 with a light. More accurate than .45 or .40 by far.
- 9mm is a fuckload cheaper to shoot than .45 and I like to shoot, but don't like spending all my cash on ammo.
- 9mm kills, just like .45, .40, .357 Sig, 10mm... et al. Modern self defense ammunition has come along way. Proper shot placement, round count, and good quality JHP is the key to CNS interruption and exsanguination. I am a department firearms instructor and armorer and have been involved in my share of OIS. I've also seen a large pile of folks killed with .380, .22, .25, .32, and 9mm along with a guy that drove himself to the hospital after drinking a .45ACP.
Just last year, we had a guy kill his wife with two seemingly non-lethal abdomen hits with a .380 right before we drilled two .40 S&Ws into his melon.
I had a Kimber Custom II .45, and I can shoot it just as well as my G34, G19, G26, P226 .40, HK USP .40 or a cheapo .38 I have laying around.
I just don't see the point in spending more money on ammo for zero benefit, other than not having to listen to my swinging dick co-workers talk about my little girly 9mm then get all pissed when I out qual them. Nobody has ever volunteered to step in front of my little pussy ass 9mm either.

Until someone explains why LAPD, LASO, NYPD and 40 percent of the world's military keep killing folks with 9mm and how .45 or .40 are "better", I'll keep on keeping on.
As far as being built around a specific cartridge...
My Pro is a full handfitted customshop build. It is conforming fine.
The 9mm EMP and .380 P238/Mustang pictured above were both designed around those respective cartridges. I carry at least two and sometimes all three at work. Never had a failure in any of the three guns.

I usually just tell people to go fuck a flying donut when they argue with me so I take this as a sign I'm growing as a person.

Glad I can assist.
