Utah becomes first state to have official state firearm
More here: Add this to Utah's list of state symbols: An official firearm - CNN.comUntil this week, Utah had 24 state symbols, from tree (the blue spruce) to insect (the honeybee) to even cooking pot (the Dutch oven).
Now it's added an official state firearm -- the John M. Browning-designed M1911 pistol, becoming the first state in the nation to have one, according to the state legislator who sponsored the law.

I think the National pistol should be the 1911.
National rifle would be a lot harder to decide...1903, M1 Garand, BAR, M14, M16...I dunno.
1911 is an easy pick though.

If I recall correctly there is a Browning museum at the Union Train Station in Oden off of Wall Ave. I haven't lived there in a while but the Union Bar & Grill had great food to sample after looking at all of John Browning's inventions.
