I can't imagine any situation where this would be ruled constitutional.

I also think it is hilariously ironic that the first comment decries the use of stop-and-frisk by NYPD (which still MUST be based on reasonable suspicion, and is practiced by every officer in every department, everyday.) but then sings the praises of this machine which is essentially "searching" everyone going by. We're beyond worrying about violations of our rights it seems. We only care if we're inconvenienced by the perceived violation. A dangerous slippery slope.

Agreed. Although as soon as someone sees this as an opportunity to find dime bags of dope in pockets the ACLU will start screaming.

This is similar to the thermal imagery that had been used buy Narcs to find grow houses. That was found to be unconstitutional.

I don't see it being constitutional for random use. Maybe at a stadium or similar set up where you'd put a magnetometer... but to drive down the street, scanning people? Not a chance.

The liberal left side of Washington State had their skivvies tied in a knot about thermal and a warrant is now required. I agree. The gadget-happy marxists fails to see anything beyond getting their way. Constitutional rights do not matter when it interferes with "them" and their plans for the proletariat class.
