    Police called about gun tattoo

Maine man Michael Smith woke up to police with assault rifles drawn on his front lawn Tuesday morning after authorities believed he had a flashed a gun during an argument.
A shirtless Smith had angrily shooed a tree removal company off of his property — spooking the landscapers with they thought was a handgun tucked in his pants.
But the weapon he was wielding was only a life-sized tattoo of a handgun with the barrel of the pistol tucked just below the beltline.

“Obviously it was a misunderstanding and he didn’t have a weapon, but we had to respond to the initial report as if he did,” Maine State Police Trooper Scott Duff told the Morning Sentinel. “We take all precautions when we don’t have the details.”
“They weren’t 100% sure what he was saying,” Duff told the paper. “but he was yelling and they thought it could be some sort of a threat. They thought he was yelling something to the effect of doing harm, but when we got a hold of him, it ended up just being a tattoo.”
It’s unclear why Smith went into the freezing temperatures without his shirt on. Police said they don’t believe he intentionally did it to be menacing.
“I got plans today. I didn’t want to get shot,” Smith told the Sentinal shortly after the standoff ceased and the cops cleared from the scene.
The pistol permanently plastered on his waist only caused confusion once before when he was busted for an unpaid parking ticket.

That is probably the dumbest tattoo idea. Imagine if he was drunk, maybe a bit belligerent and it was dark out? I could see this ending badly some day for him.

He ought to get a tatoo of a brain on his forehead. He doesn't really have one of those either.
