Let me know if you need a food taster for next year's fair. I can also carry your beer. I work damn cheap, too.

Car 4I would like my country back. I used to believe that one man could never destroy this country. Not so sure anymore!

LAST DAY OF THE 2010 IOWA STATE FAIR
This is Kevin McGrath of :: The Best Around Concessions :: Home
They have been in business for 33 years, 15 of them at the Iowa State Fair. They have 12 units, 4 of them were at this years fair.

This is a couple of my favorite people at the fair. Pam is from Tennessee and her daughter, Michelle lives in Georgia. They always have smile and a kind word.

I always get their Cajun chicken on a stick. The batter has just the right amount of flavour and heat.

QUESADILLA JUNCTION
Back to Quesadilla Junction for another visit.

This is Oliver Regal, owner of Regal Concessions with a steak and egg quesadilla.

All of the employees here were fast and friendly. They could single handed take on a dozen orders, chat with you and not miss a beat. This is their first year for the Iowa State Fair. The location is just west of the main food court area. Rumor has it their spot is going to see a lot of development around it, making it a prime location.
This is my newestfavoritistfairfood. I am looking forward to their return next year.

A couple of friends joined me for a bit of the craziness.
Robin and Rob

Rob got caught by the Iowa State Fair mascots. We were right next to a stage with a band playing, so they started dancing. It was all I could do to hold the camera and snap a few pics!

LOUISIANA CAJUN COOKIN'
I had seen people walking around with a huge chicken breast on a stick. They directed me to...

These were huge, at least one pound. And the only food on a stick to have a roll on the end.

Woody and Rick have worked at the Bud Tent for a combined 64 years. This is their last year.

Woody Strait even has his own beer sign. (Made out of a George Strait beer sign.)

It has been awhile since I have seen this band and forgot how much fun they are. They even pose while playing without missing a beat!

Notes
2010 Iowa State Fair
The answer is, Yes, I ate all of that.
Funniest comment: "Are you full yet?"
All of the food and music/entertainment was top notch.
The people working the fair are all there for the fun, and it is non stop for 10 days.
