Bell Pepper Challenge: Prep
Candied Bell Pepper Filled Pizzelle: Prep
Candied Bell Pepper
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
three peppers

cut peppers into strips and diced

Add water and sugar to saute pan

Add cut peppers and simmer for 15 minutes

strain and cool

Candied Bell Pepper Filled Pizzelle: Prep
Cream Cheese Filling
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 whipped cream (recipe follows)

Combine cream cheese and sugar
Whipped Cream
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine in mixing bowl and mix until stiff peaks appear



Fold whip cream, cream cheese and diced candied bell peppers together.

Bell Pepper Challenge: Prep
Pizzelle
3 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. butter, melted and cooled
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Beat eggs and sugar. Add cooled melted butter and vanilla.
Sift flour and baking powder and add to egg mixture.

Pizzelle Press


Place Pizzelle Press over stove burner on medium heat. Drop tablespoon size pieces of pizzelle dough at the back/center of press. Flip pizzelle press and cook until steam stops coming out.

Some of the pizzelles can be left flat, or as soon as they come out of the press they can be formed to desired shape.

I've got an electric pizzelle iron, they're a household fav. Never thought about candying bell peppers, going to have to try it. Normally I serve the pizzelles with cheesecake filling. Nom.

A PAUSE FOR PIZZA!!!
A couple of awesome pizzas we made recently.
Two basil pesto pizzas with pepperoni. One with mozzarella the other with colby/jack cheese.

Presentation of the Bell Pepper Challenge dishes will begin shortly.
