lagniappe - Do not use the cheapest ingredients, but do not buy "designer" types as it is too $$$$.

Recommended - I use Sauza gold tequila, DeKuyper Blue Cuarcao (or paramount triple sec)

Garnish with whatever you like. Salt the rim with kosher salt before adding ice. Top off your drink with a wedge of fresh lime.

Recommended eats - fresh guacamole, fresh pico de gallo, all served with fresh hot tortilla chips (white or yellow corn, or mix it up with multi colored chips) Do not skimp on chips, you get what you pay for.

Real sugar recipe (simple syrup)

3 cups sugar
3 cups water

boil till sugar is completely dissolved

cool and add rest of ingredients

I have tried a new mix on the masonjarita sweet and sour mix recipe.

Key Lime Juice - 16 oz Mrs Biddles-Sun Harvest Citrus

The first test batch was 1 bottle real lime with 1 bottle key lime.

Into the 4th masonjarita and it is better than I thought.

For those who have tried the original recipe, let us know when you try the key lime addition.

I tried out a new sweetener. Splenda is maltodextrose and sucralose. Stevia is maltodextrose and stevia extract.

Picked this up on clearance, 50% off. I wonder if they are not going to have this available anymore. It is a decent tequila and a great price ($15 range)

Splenda won over Stevia 4-0

I have tried both sweeteners in different things. Splenda seems to taste better, in my opinion.
