I went to this place the other day, the food was really good:
Ted's Montana Grill
I don't see a website but Perran's Po-Boys on Veterans in Metairie La is very good. Great muffalettas.

I tried the ribs/brisket/pulled pork combo meal.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...A/IMG_3212.jpg
All of the meats were done perfect.
Woody greets nearly all of his customers by first name. As the rooms filled up it seemed there were just as many take away orders as there were dine in.
Woody's is definitely worth another visit.

The interior is mostly a fishing/sports motif. Many celebrities that sported mullet hairstyles from years past and a few vintage boating/fishing ads.

The bloodies were not hand mixed but was a bottled brand by the name Hair of the Dawg Bloody Mary and Drink Mixes. A locally produced product that is the best bottled mix I ever tasted.

Very tasty, indeed!

Yeah, we are on the menu too!

These were both very tasty!
All of the staff were the friendly interactive type that I like. They were entertaining yet not obtrusive. There are many items on the menu that caught my eye. Very much worth a trip back for any meal!

Brick House Cafe - Des Moines Metro - Johnston, IA 50131 | Metromix Des Moines
The Brickhouse Cafe was highly recommended by Darren of Smokey D's.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...A/IMG_3278.jpg
The breakfast menu is very basic. I chose the breakfast combo that included their famous Swedish style pancakes.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...A/IMG_3279.jpg
Everything was hot, fresh and perfectly prepared. The pancakes were a thinner buttermilk type, very tasty!
The service was the fast friendly/interactive type that I like. The end of this month is their 6th anniversary. They will be serving hot roast beef sandwiches and a piece of their homemade pie as a meal special.
Went to this restaurant at a small airport (McCollum Airport) when there was time to kill last week, the menu looked great but we just had an appetizer (house made potato chips with blue cheese béchamel, crumbled blue cheese and balsamic reduction) and a few liquid nitrogen dirty martinis while we watched the planes. :thumb:
I'll go back again to try a full meal.

This trip I tried the chorizo breakfast.

The hahbrowns are the best of any restaurant in the area. The chorizo they use is on the milder side. Again the service was personable and fast.
Welcome to The Q Barbaque Resturant & Bar Home Page
This is one of the newer BBQ places. There is quite the write up about how they got the advice of a Kansas City BBQ Guru. We shall see.

I ordered the loin back ribs with mac n chz and cole slaw. The meal also came with a bite size jalapeno corn muffin.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...B/IMG_3425.jpg
The cole slaw presentation deserved it's own pic.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...B/IMG_3426.jpg
My friend ordered their hand breaded pork loin.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...B/IMG_3424.jpg
They had the usual array of bbq sauces. Mostly sweet without much variation.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...B/IMG_3427.jpg
The staff was friendly and attentive. The side dishes were good. The tenderloin was meaty and had visible spices in the breading. The dry rub on the ribs were really hard to zero in on.

I had the St. Louis style ribs with beans and cole slaw.
http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...A/IMG_3455.jpg
The sides were the stars here. The cole slaw is a vinegar based as opposed to mayo, very tasty. The fries are made in house. The baked beans are some of the best I have ever had, meaty and smokey.
The rib tips were the real deal, cut off the bottom of the sparerib. The Chuckwagon is always a good choice.
I went back the next week to try their homemade pork tenderloin.

http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/k...B/IMG_3470.jpg
This is a batter dipped pork loin slice. The pork was very consistent and lean. The honey mustard sauce on the side was a nice touch. Cactus Bob's is also known for it's HOT bbq sauces. The tables are set with three standard sauces. There is a side table in the front room that has about 8 more sauces that are extremely hot to ridiculously hot. The hottest on the table is not that bad IMHO
Dammit. Now I'm hungry again :(
On my recent sightseeing tour, I had the honor of traveling with a local restaurateur, Victoria Hagar.

She asked me "What do you think a deli should be?". I said, Quality meats, cheeses and salads. She smiled and I told her I would come to visit.
Recently there was a nationwide contest for sports fans favorite sandwich. They came in 5th with the Zach Johnson (ham, hard salami, pepperoni, provolone, hot pepper cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, & oil dressing)

The decor is pretty basic. The dining area is comfy booths with little distraction.
