The "2 Buck Chuck" Thread!

This is my first bottle of "2 Buck Chuck". In this thread I will will try all that is available in this area.

The first selection is Merlot. Served with swiss cheese and crackers.

For $2.99 it was pretty good. Definitely better than Barefoot Merlot.

I must be the only person alive who doesn't drink wine...............LOL

Boy you filled your glass awful high. A good wine should please other senses too. You want to enjoy the aroma and bouquet of the wine. I have gotten into wine making and for about $60 I can make 30 bottles so it is actually the real 2 buck chuck. The last two batches I made are very comparable to $15 - $20 bottles.

When we rarely buy wine that is what we get so I will have to see if this is available around here.

I don't drink wine. Can't even stand the smell. I used to live in wine cou try and hated the smell of the grapes fermenting.

That is awesome, Reca! So how does one go about getting a tasting from Reca Vineyards? :noidea: :D

The Charles Shaw wines aren't bad at all, although they're closer to three bucks than two anymore. Try that merlot with Gouda cheese, it'll taste even better.

I much prefer reds to whites, although I recently had an excellent Pinot Gris and a great Chardonnay that I really liked. The only white wine that I drink regularly is "Evolution 9," a white meritage from Sokol-Blosser in Oregon.

Put the bottle into a blender for 20 seconds.

Aerate the crap out of it, and it turns out to be pretty good wine for $2.50.

I generally prefer dry but there are some sweeter reds that I like, one of them is Starry Night Zinfandel.
