    She is standing on top of the Administration building on Grand Avenue. She had her cell phone out with the lyrics. I am not sure if anyone else noticed.

    Griddle Sticks are a new food at the fair this year. At $1 each they are the best value!



    Huge turkey breakfast sausage dipped in pancake batter and fried. Served with maple syrup.



    yummm...




    This was also one of the best new tastes. The maple syrup was the real deal. The sausage was perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of sage.



    NOTE: I spoke with Gretta later in the day. The smoked turkey drumstick sales were exceeding last years sales. They had nearly sold out Saturday night and had to get a delivery just to cover the last day of the fair!

    Iowa Wine and Cheese Garden!



    Iowa Winegrowers Association: Serving wineries, vineyards, and winegrowers across the Hawkeye state.

    First off I noticed that Maytag Dairy Farms: blue cheese, wheels, wedges, white cheddar, swiss, Iowa now has a variety of cheeses! I love their Bleu. I bought tickets for wine samples and a bleu cheese and muenster cheese cup.

    This was incredibly delicious! It was similar to drinking a tawny port. The Maytag Bleu is sinfully creamy and sharp.

    These were all very good seyvals, but the Cedar Valley Seyval was notably crisper. Again, the Maytag Muenster was incredible buttery smooth, perfect with the Seyval!
