Thanksgiving meal plans?
Whether you go out or stay home. What are your culinary ventures going to be?
We are having my folks over for something non-traditional. My Dad's Mom used to make enchiladas and fried chicken. The enchiladas had potato, onion, colby cheese and dill pickles, yes, dill pickles. I am not sure how a Mexican family came up with that! We will make the tortillas and the enchilada sauce from scratch. I will season the chicken with cumin, coriander, garlic, salt and ground chilis. Of course rice and refried beans, pico de gallo and guacamole as sides.
And Masonjaritas© will be served.

Wow, that sounds fantastic! Well, I could probably pass on the pickles, but everything else has my mouth watering.
I'll be having two traditional Thanksgiving dinners.
For lunch we'll go to my in-laws farm and have turkey and ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, a variety of casseroles, deviled eggs, rolls, pumpkin pie, and jam cake.
For supper we'll eat at my family's house and have turkey and dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes (casserole), green bean casserole, cranberry relish, rolls, chocolate chip pie, and pecan pie.
Pray for me.

We do the traditional thing. The whole family meets at my brother's house because he has a room big enough for all of us.
We eat a traditional meal of turkey & all the fixins, but also have smoked ham and brisket as well.Blessed are the the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. MATT 5:10

I'll have some family over early as I'm working Thanksgiving, but I'm thinking about smoking a turkey in my new smoker this year.

Ham, ham gravy, sweet potatoes, maybe mashed potatoes, corn casserole. It's just hubby and I this year and the doc has me on a low glycemic index diet. I won't be having much of the mashed potatoes.

I have to work that afternoon at 1330, but I'm hoping that I can get another Captain to stay over for a couple of hours so I can have the traditional meal with my wife, kids and their significant others. We'll have turkey, ham, mashed taters, gravy, a couple of different vegitables, fruit salad and a couple of different pies. There is no doubt that my duty belt will be a little tighter that night!

Going to pick my 90-year-young Dad up at his nursing home and spend the day with my son and his family.
Gonna let daughter-in-law have the privilege of cooking for us. Don't know what she has planned, but I know it's going to be a great day with a great meal.
She is one heckuva cook.

I'm not going home for Thanksgiving this year, so I'll be spending the weekend with a friend's extended family. I don't know the menu, but my responsibilities are very simple - a veggie tray, a few sweet breads, scones, and an as yet to be decided contribution to dessert. And a bottle of Pampero Aniversario rum.

My fiancee and I bought our first house back in July so we are doing Thanksgiving for our family this year, about 22 people it looks like. Two turkeys, a ham, mashed potatoes, dressing, yams, macaroni and cheese, cheese tray, veggie tray. Some of the family is bringing desserts.

We always go to my aunt and uncle's house in a nearby suburb and have a traditional dinner. I don't have to work this year, so I can actually imbibe on the wine I bring with me.

I pulled the Thanksgiving shift, but we're putting something together at the office. I'm bringing my famous mashed potatoes. SOOOOO fattening, but fantastically good.
