Straight up liquor

I got introduced to pickle shots the other night. A shot of vodka (although I'm told some other liquors work) followed by a shot of pickle juice with a pickle slice. For me, the pickle juice completely wiped out the alcohol burn of the vodka. No "after shot shudder" or even a blink. Definitely cool. And a great use for leftover pickle juice. I think it may also help combat the dehydration that comes with indulging.

Now, aside from the classic "Lick it, Slam it, Suck it" that is so familiar to tequila drinkers, does anyone have any favorite shot accompaniments?

I was introduced to the "pickle shot" back in 1992. The recipe then was whiskey followed by dill pickle juice. They called it a Nebraska Outhouse. ...never did figure out why. There was even a Hagar The Horrible comic strip that was about real men chased whiskey with pickle juice.

Real tequila drinkers can afford better than Cuervo Gold. I can't, hence I lick, slam and suck.

And in '92 I was graduating high school and back then I was actually pretty innocent and didn't drink. Oh how times (and I) have changed. I've become quite a few things my mother warned me about. LOL

Yep, I'm young. Damn cute too, and more than slightly wicked. So I'm all around awesome.

Going to have to pick a bottle of that up. I may be making a Sam's Club trip in the next couple of weeks, the closest one isn't all that close.

I first heard of the "pickle shot" being done with tequila instead of vodka. I don't care for tequila, but I can do the pickle shot since it makes the taste go away.
