The menu. I was surprised how inexpensive it is.

The kitchen. They were precooking burgers because of how small the cooking surface is.

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a soda.

The service was fast and friendly. I did strike up conversation with the manager/cook. This burger is another 80/20 blend that comes in a ten pound tube. How disappointing. Nothing creative here. This was pattied properly but not seasoned. I would have voted for Ferg's and My Tighes because they actually made their own special sauce to go with the burger.
I am actually embarrassed and frustrated at the same time that this was proclaimed the 2012 Best Burger in Iowa. As I said in an earlier post, they might as well include Burger King and Wendy's next year.
It is also a great disappointment that you can win this title only one time. They will not even accept a nomination from a previous winner. If they did, the Rusty Duck would sweep it every year.
I am looking forward to seeing how the Nebraska's Best Burger compares. To Live Is To Eat
